Iliza Vie Shlesinger was born February 22, 1983 in Dallas, Texas, and raised in the Dallas suburbs through her childhood and teenage years before leaving for college on the East Coast. She attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and finished her degree at Emerson College in Boston, where the live-comedy and improv scene around the school first pulled her toward stand-up.
