Niall James Horan was born on September 13, 1993 in Mullingar, the market town in County Westmeath an hour's drive west of Dublin, to Bobby Horan, a butcher at a local supermarket, and Maura Gallagher, with an older brother Greg. His parents separated when he was around five years old, and he was raised between the two households in the same town, attending Coláiste Mhuire Mullingar through his secondary school years.
