Jahron Anthony Brathwaite was born July 3, 1993 in Mississauga, Ontario to Trinidadian immigrant parents — his mother is from Port of Spain and his father from the South Trinidad oil-and-gas corridor — and he grew up in the Region of Peel northwest of Toronto, primarily in the Brampton and northwest Mississauga corridors that became central reference points across the catalogue's geographic identity.
