Bryan Guy Adams CC OBC was born in Kingston, Ontario in November 1959, the son of a Canadian Army officer who later joined the Canadian foreign service, and grew up across postings in Portugal, Austria, Israel, and the United Kingdom before the family settled in North Vancouver, British Columbia in the early 1970s.
