Festivals
Vancouver’s festival calendar is heavily weighted to summer, when the dry stretch from late June through early September turns the city into a near-continuous outdoor event. The Honda Celebration of Light, a three-night international fireworks competition over English Bay in late July and early August, draws hundreds of thousands to the West End beaches.
The Vancouver Folk Music Festival fills Jericho Beach Park in mid-July, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival spreads across downtown venues and outdoor stages at the end of June, and the Pacific National Exhibition runs the Fair at the PNE for the last two weeks of August into Labour Day. Winter shifts the energy to PuSh International Performing Arts Festival in January and February and the Vancouver International Wine Festival at the Convention Centre.
