Thomas Rhett Akins Jr. was born March 30, 1990 in Valdosta, Georgia and raised in Hendersonville, Tennessee — the lake-town suburb on the north side of Nashville that has been the gravitational center of his life ever since his father moved the family there in the early 1990s to chase a Music Row recording career.
