Festivals
Parklife in Heaton Park in mid-June is Manchester's flagship music festival — two days of major touring electronic, hip-hop, and indie headliners drawing roughly 80,000 a day. Manchester Pride over the late August Bank Holiday weekend is one of the largest LGBTQ+ celebrations in the UK — Gay Village parade, street festival in the Canal Street area, and the headline concert in Mayfield Depot.
Manchester International Festival runs biennially in June and July, commissioning new work across music, theatre, dance, visual art, and film across multiple city venues — the festival's permanent home is Factory International at Aviva Studios on Water Street.
