Festivals
Chicago's festival calendar is one of the busiest in North America. Lollapalooza takes over Grant Park for four days at the end of July or start of August with eight stages and a quarter-million attendees a day.
Pitchfork Music Festival runs three days in Union Park, traditionally in mid to late July, with a curated indie and experimental lineup. Riot Fest brings punk, alternative, and reunion-tour acts to Douglass Park on the West Side in September.
The free city-run Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival, and Chicago Gospel Music Festival all run in Grant Park or Millennium Park across June, July, and August. Taste of Chicago, the city's signature food festival, returns to Grant Park each summer.
